Naturally fire is one of the biggest single threats to paper records and Oasis have installed a number of key systems to ensure the physical safety of your boxes and files.

Our commercial storage areas are protected by a fully aspirated VESDA (Very Early Smoke Detection Apparatus) system which is connected and monitored 24/7 by AIM (Advanced Independent Monitoring).

VESDA solutions provide the earliest possible warning of an impending fire hazard, buying time to investigate an alarm and initiate an appropriate response to prevent injury, property damage or business disruption. Aspirating smoke detectors are highly sensitive, and can detect smoke before it is even visible to the human eye. Because VESDA has the industry’s widest sensitivity range and multi-level warnings, even minute levels of smoke can be detected before a fire has time to escalate.

Using water as a suppressant in areas where electronics operate and irreplaceable, high-value assets and records are stored could be as devastating as fire itself. Vaulted areas within Oasis Record Centres are protected with Ardent's Hygood Sapphire clean agent system, custom engineered to quickly suppress fires and protect sensitive data without causing harm to people or the environment.

The heart of the system is the revolutionary 3M Novec 1230 fire protection fluid, a clear, colourless and odorless cleaning agent. Stored in cylinders in its fluid form, Novec 1230 instantly vaporises upon discharge, totally flooding protected spaces and absorbing heat better than water. Once the danger has passed, Novec 1230 quickly evaporates without harming your valuable assets.
